All lanes of traffic were re-opened on southbound Interstate 93 Thursday after a truck fire in the O'Neill Tunnel.
Emergency crews responded to a trash truck fire near exit 20 on southbound I-93 around 1:15 p.m., according to the Boston Globe.Boston Fire Department spokesman Steve MacDonald told the paper that the fire began in the back of the garbage truck, and that firefighters had to open the vehicle to gain access to the blaze.
The truck was towed away just after 3 p.m., according to Massachusetts State Police.
