A 13-year-old boy allegedly lured an 8-year-old girl into a bathroom and raped her at a Harlem branch of the New York Public Library on Wednesday, the Daily News reports.

The suspect, described as a troubled foster child, was due in Manhattan Family Court on Friday to face charges of second-degree rape and unlawful imprisonment.

The suspect and the victim, whose identities have not been made public, reportedly encountered each other at the Countee Cullen Library on W. 136th St., where he led her into the bathroom and asked for a kiss. A law enforcement source told the News that he forced her to perform oral sex on him before raping her.

According to NBC, the suspect threatened to hurt the girl’s brother if she told anyone about the assault. The story came out later that evening when her mother noticed something was wrong and questioned her.
