A charity event to honour Brittany Murphy and raise money for the new
Brittany Murphy Foundation scheduled for yesterday evening was
mysteriously cancelled earlier this week by Murphy’s husband, Simon
Monjack, according to TMZ.
While Monjack reportedly insists the event was simply postponed, a call
to the Beverly Hills Temple of the Arts, where it was to take place,
doesn’t reveal any rescheduling information, and an e-mail to guests
reads, “So sorry but the memorial has been canceled due to an illness
in the family.” Monjack was reporting soliciting $1,000 in donations
from each guest.
