An elderly Brooklyn woman said she was left “traumatized” by police officers who ransacked her apartment without a warrant last year.

Lydia Pruitt, 65, said she was getting ready for a doctor’s appointment at about 7 a.m. on May 14 when she heard loud noises.

“I heard a ‘Boom!’ then another ‘Boom!’ and it was my door being broken down,” the 4-feet-11-inches tallPruitt told the New York Daily News.

“Four or five” officers with guns drawn entered her Bedford-Stuyvesant apartment, Pruitt and her lawyer claim.

TheBrooklyn federal court complaint alleges the officers showed Pruitt, who has no children and who lives alone,a wanted poster of a woman she said she did not know.

That’s when Pruitt said she was slammed against a wall, injuring her knee, before being handcuffed. One of the plainclothes officers went by the nickname”Huggy Bear.”

“The other cop . . .said, ‘Huggy Bear, put her in the hallway,’ ” she said, the Daily News reported. “He’s a big, gruesome guy. Bald and very heavy. A heavyweight.”

The officers then trashed the apartment while searching, the lawsuit alleges, and bottles of her heart medication were emptied. Pruitt was given a desk-appearance ticket for seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, but the illegal drug was not specified in the ticket.

The D.A. did not prosecute Pruitt and said she did not know why Pruitt was arrested, the New York Post reported.

“I was traumatized,” Pruitt said Wednesday, the Post reported. “Still to this day, I don’t understand. I know I’m afraid of the police.”

Pruitt’s lawyer, Andrew Hoffman, said he is trying to find out who “Huggy Bear” is.

“I do know the behavior Ms. Pruitt described was anything but cuddly,” Hoffmansaid, the Daily News reported.

The city has not commented on the lawsuit yet. A spokesperson said the suit will be reviewed once thecity receives a copy.
