The 2010-11 season is over for Bruins star Marc Savard, who is faced with another concussion.
The team placed the center on long-term injured reserve yesterday, ending his campaign in the aftermath of a head injury suffered Jan. 22.
For Savard, the news marks the second straight season marred by a concussion. He missed a major chunk of 2009-10 after Matt Cooke’s dirty hit.
“I have a lot of feelings going on. I think I’m frustrated, mostly,” Savard said. “It’s tough to understand why this happened. It will take time and patience — those two things I don’t feel like I have much of.”
