A 40-year-old Cambridge woman is scheduled to be arraigned Monday for allegedly stabbing a man who later died after being taken to a hospital.

Malia Gomez was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury and armed assault with intent to murder, according to the Middlesex district attorney’s office.

Authorities said that Cambridge police were called to an apartment at 396 Putnam Ave. at about 6:20 a.m. Sunday for a report of an unconscious man. When officers arrived they found Dana Robinson, 46, of Cambridge, on the porch of the building suffering from a stab wound.

He was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center where he later died. An autopsy is scheduled for later.

Authorities are investigating and did not comment on a reason for the stabbing. Officials did say that the incident was not random and that Gomez and Robinson knew each other.
