With bowls of candy left over, some Calgarians are wondering where all the trick-or-treaters were this year.
Nicole Lehocky, who lives in Evanston, said she was surprised she only had about 25 kids come to the door this year — she thought there would be many more.
“We were all wondering why there weren’t more,” she said.
Lehocky didn’t expect to have any candy left over after but doesn’t mind the extra chips and chocolate — they are her favourite, she said.
Things were even quiter on Marda Loop, where some residents didn’t have a single knock at the door “I only bought the candy last minute out of guilt, like two hours before the kids should have come by,” said Julia Spencer.
“But nobody came to the door all night and now I have all this candy left.”
Calgary police Duty Insp. Keith Pollock said Halloween night was relatively quiet. “The kids were good, it was just the drunk adults we had to deal with,” he said.
