As fans have come to expect from the “Captain America” star, Chris Evans isn’t staying silent over one of the many recent controversies coming out of President Donald Trump’s chaotic White House.
Shortly after reuniting with his favorite pet pooch—who’s very much alive—the Star-Spangled Avenger and Boston native took to Twitter on Tuesday morning to blast Trump over his speech to a police group in Long Island last week. Evans was particularly disgusted by a clip of the president’s comments about roughing up suspects.
“When you see these thugs being thrown into the back of a paddy wagon. You see them thrown in rough,” Trump told the audience. “I said, ‘Please don’t be too nice.’ Like, don’t hit their head and they’ve just killed somebody. I said, ‘You can take the hand away, OK?'”
Sanders: Trump was “making a joke” when he suggested police should rough up people they arrest. Judge for yourself. https://t.co/JHw5kkK51P

The 36-year-old actor wasn’t happy that people were calling Trump’s statements a “joke” and believes that the commander-in-chief was acting like a “reckless moron” for seemingly encouraging more police violence.
You reckless moron. Do you have any idea what you’re encouraging? You think a ‘joke’ makes it ok?? ZERO societal awareness and understanding https://t.co/7a3Qf3bOcP

Evans wasn’t the only Boston star to put the president on blast for the speech. The Marvel movie icon’s ex-girlfriend Jenny Slate also criticized Trump’s remarks in a post a Twitter.
HE IS STRAIGHT UP JUST LIKE YR SHITTIEST BOYFRIEND JUST LIKE YR BIGGEST REGRET, DUMBEST PUSHIEST GROSSEST BOYFRIEND NOT GOOD ENUF FOR U https://t.co/4j9l8dqZI8

Hopefully the “Saturday Night Live” alum wasn’t referring to her short but highly-publicized relationship with Evans.
