Child porn investigation leads to after-school teacher: Police
File

A man who police said was employed for over a year as a part-time teacher at an after-school program was arraigned on child pornography charges Friday.

Ian Silver-Eck, 20, of Revere was charged on one count each of possession of obscene material and possession of child pornography. He worked at “Build it Yourself,” a program which works with students throughout Massachusetts.

Police said they found Silver-Eck after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children last December, and obtained his home address with an administrative subpoena.

Detectives said he admitted the images were on the hard drive and that forensics investigators later found a total of 23 images of alleged child pornography on the computer.

A Suffolk County Court Judge imposed a $1,000 bail and several conditions on Silver-Eck, including wearing a GPS monitor, no contact with children under 18, and staying away from parks, schools, and his after school program.

He must also stay away from the Internet.

Silver-Eck is due back in court on May 20.
