Acting Mayor Doug Thompson is welcoming Mitel’s decision not to sue the city over the procurement process for a telecommunications services contract worth up to $6 million as a positive stand.
“They said they basically don’t want to hurt the city,” said Thompson. “The majority of council felt, and I did, that the process was fair and we made the right decision.”
A statement released by the company yesterday stated, “it would not be in the best interests of Mitel, the city, nor its taxpayers to proceed further with this matter.”
