The Red Sox might want to watch the market for Erik Bedard — or another starter — very closely.
Clay Buchholz has suffered a setback in his quest to return from a lower back strain. Apparently, things aren’t quite as rosy as they looked a few days ago.
“We want Buch to see one more specialist Friday-Monday-ish before we
completely turn him loose,” Terry Francona told reporters. “With
everything that’s gone on in there, we just want to make sure this kid’s
OK.”
Buchholz didn’t throw today. Meanwhile, at least a few minor leaguers are packing their bags, just in case.
