A female Subway employee was robbed and locked in an Ajax sandwich store’s freezer early yesterday.
A man entered the 24-hour shop with a gun and confronted the 47-year-old woman shortly after 5 a.m.
After tying up her wrists and taping her mouth shut, the robber shoved the employee into the walk-in freezer, stole an unknown amount of money and turned the store’s lights off. The employee was not found until her daytime co-worker showed up at 5:30 a.m.
Though she was shaken up, the employee did not require medical attention.

Police are describing the suspect as black man in his mid-to-late 20s, standing five-feet, nine-inches tall wearing all black clothing, including a black toque and a black scarf, and red winter gloves.
