Police on Saturday night hunted down a 36-year-old believed to be connected to an indecent assault in the North End earlier that day.

Police had been searching for a man who had allegedly assaulted a female just before 3 a.m. Saturday near Tileston and Wiggin Streets. The victim alleges she was walking home when she was grabbed “in an indecent manner” by a man, who then ran off, according to police.

The victim described the alleged assailant to be a Hispanic male in his early 30s, between 5-feet-7 inches and 5-feet-9 inches with a stock build, black spiked hair and wearing a white zip-up jacket, blue jeans and camouflage boots.

Police searched the area before dawn on Saturday but were unable to locate him until 10 p.m., when police from Boston’s fugitive unit arrested Nieto Wagner of Fall River.

He is expected to appear in Boston Municipal Court tomorrow.
