Cops: Suspect planned to bomb Washington Arch

Cops say that a man wanted to blow up the Washington Arch in Greenwich Village’s Washington Square Park, near New York University.

Aaron Greene is reportedly accused of being witnessed sprinkling powder inside the park and hitting it with a rock, which caused an explosion, according to The New York Times.

Police searched his apartment, where they said they found a chemical explosive, and they also searched a friend’s house, according to the Times.
