A correction officer has been arrested after she allegedly set a Brooklyn residential building on fire Thursday, injuring 12 people.

Yvette Randolph, 43, is accused of intentionally setting the blaze at 375 Chauncey St. in Bedford-Stuyvesant about 9:15 a.m., police said. Twelve victims were taken to area hospitals for non-fatal injuries, police added.

Witnesses told The New York Daily News that a deranged woman in a uniform broke through a door and doused a stairwell with gasoline. They added that the woman once had a boyfriend who lived in the building.

Thick smoke quickly filled the three-story building and residents scrambled to escape through windows as the fire grew inside the building’s hallway, the News reported.

Randolph has been charged with second-degree arson.
