As Pokémon fans get to achieve Pokémon master status in their city streets, Potterheads want to see their world of witchcraft and wizardry brought to virtual reality, too. A petition started by Harry Potter fan Ashtyn Hannon directed at Warner Bros. and Niantic —the gaming company that developed Pokemon Go — has almost already collected its goal of 11,000 signatures in support of “Harry Potter Go.” The hashtag #WeNeedHarryPotterGo is also trending in support of the idea. With no response from Warner Bros or Niantic, Harry Potter fans are already imagining what the game can look like. Because, you know, #magic. You could still catch’em all— but now it’s goblins
In her petition, Hannon adds that the app could fit perfectly with the upcoming film, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” a prequel to the Harry Potter series, in which hero Newt Scamander has to capture magical creatures around New York City. Other HP fans on Twitter suggest using the app to catch a snitch IRL.

Bringing magic back to technology
Since they’re such a normal part of our lives, it’s hard to remember how “magical” a smartphone can be. With the Harry Potter app, Hannon imagines our smartphones casting spells, like “expelliarmus could disable their app for a few seconds!” Hannon writes. Twitter user @_inidhi also suggests, “Imagine going to dark alleys to find fantastic beasts and shouting ‘lumos’ to open flash light on your phone!” A real life competition for the House Cup
Similar to the teams in Pokémon Go, HP fans imagine the Harry Potter Go app using the houses to create teams for players. What would happen if you’re a Slytherin and came across someone from the house of Gryffindor? Only thing you can do: “You can duel, using your phone as a wand,” @zarahali2001 tweeted.
