A local dance troupe is about to soar into Vegas for the 2010 World Hip Hop Dance Championships, and they need your help to get there.
The Fly Girlz dance crew is made up of seven (sometimes eight) women between the ages of 18 and 31, and now’s their chance to compete against the best in the world.
“We went to Vancouver in May and won the Canadian qualifiers,” said Asha Marshall, a two-year member of the group.
The Fly Girlz have been performing locally for the past seven years.
Marshall said the Fly Girlz are all very passionate about the competition, but flying to Vegas isn’t cheap for a local dance crew.
The troupe is hosting a fundraiser party at Diesel Ultra Lounge on Thursday night.
“We’re basically just throwing a massive party,” Marshall said. “It’s going to be a crazy party with tons of really good DJs and really good dancers.”
