Daniel Kelly is slated to testify tomorrow and closing arguments are expected to start in the child-endangerment trial against him and two social workers; the charges center on alleged negligence and fraud.
Today, witnesses from the state Department of Health and Human Services focused on allegedly fraudulent record-keeping at MultiEthnic Behavioral Health Inc. A DHHS investigator spoke to finding bags of paperwork related to the case in a Dumpster behind the social-services operation while a forensic computer analyst testified about reports that were created the day of Danieal’s 2006 death being made to look like they were from months earlier.
Kelly’s little sister also testified for about 20 minutes, claiming that their family was frozen out of contact with the 14-year-old girl who had cerebral palsy and whose horrific death led to wholesale changes at DHS.
