DNC schedule and speakers: Your guide to the Democratic National Convention

The DNC kicked off Monday in Philadelphia, aiming to unify a Democratic party at odds with itself after newly leaked emails indicate that party officials seemed to favor presumptive nominee Hillary Clinton over her opponent in the primaries, Sen. Bernie Sanders.

Despite the email controversy, history will still be made in Philadelphia, though, as Clinton, once nominated, will become the first female candidate to represent one of America’s two major parties in a presidential election. In the run-up to her acceptance of the nomination, the DNC promises high-profile speakers each night.

On Monday, Sen. Bernie Sanders will address the convention in a much-anticipated speech that pundits will be analyzing in light of the new email hack, followed later by an address from first lady Michelle Obama. Although senators Elizabeth Warren and Cory Booker are not on the official schedule, they will be speaking on Monday night, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Tuesday, former President Bill Clinton will speak, followed by a group called Mothers of the Movement, which is a collection of speakers that includes the mothers of Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Sandra Bland and others, all of whom died while in police custody.

On Wednesday, Vice President Joe Biden and President Barack Obama will take the stage for prime-time addresses. Newly picked vice presidential candidate Tim Kaine will also appear, according to CNN, although his appearance was not mentioned on the official schedule, similar to an expected appearance from former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

To wrap up the final day of the convention on Thursday, Chelsea Clinton will give an address followed by one from her mother, presumptive nominee Hillary Clinton.
