A dolphin became trapped under a bridge in a Brooklyn creek Thursday morning, police said.
Police responded to the creek near Cropsey Avenue and Bay 54th Street in Coney Island about 11 a.m. after reports came in of a dolphin in distress. An aviation unit confirmed the creature was a dolphin, police said.
A team of officers from the emergency services, harbor patrol and dive units are on the scene.
Earlier this year, a dolphin found swimming in Brooklyn’s reportedly toxic Gowanus Canal died.
