Fresh off of a campaign trip to Iowa, Donald Trump reported to jury duty in lower Manhattan on Monday morning.
“It’s something we have to do,” Trump briefly told droves of waiting reporters before going into State Supreme Court.
Talking Points Memo reporter Catherine Thompson tweeted that Trump signed autographs before reporting for jury duty. Trump arrived in a limousine, and also fist-bumped waiting fans, the Associated Press reported.
Trump has previously been summoned for jury duty, but did not show up. The New York Times reported that Trump was fined $250 for failing to appear for jury duty earlier this year. A spokesman told the Times that the summons was sent to the wrong address, and the fine has since been waived.
