Sick of backroom dealing and the unchecked influence of developers, Capital Ward Coun. Clive Doucet has promised to throw the doors open at city hall if he is elected mayor.
“Developers have more to say about running the city than your elected officials,” said Doucet.
“I’m not running to be the developers’ go-to guy. I will not run the city behind closed doors.”
Too many essential municipal issues, like the cancelling of the north-south light rail, the Terry Fox Extension and the transit strike were debated by council in private, Doucet said.
