Police have issued a ticket to the driver of an SUV that pinned a pedestrian between the vehicle and a Spring Garden Road business on Friday afternoon.
Just before 4 p.m., the driver of a dark grey SUV lost control of her vehicle while attempting to back into a parking spot near 5491 Spring Garden Rd.
The vehicle struck a 19-year-old woman, pinning her against the building. She was taken to the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre with serious — but not life-threatening — injuries.
The building, which houses Furs and Leathers by Seymour, was also significantly damaged.
The driver, a 42-year-old Ontario woman, was issued a ticket for backing up when it was not safe to do so. But police have not ruled out additional charges, and are urging witnesses to contact them.
