Two Canadian drivers with good prospects in the NASCAR Nationwide race in Montreal Aug. 28-29 arrived in Ottawa to talk about the race recently.
Toronto-area resident Ron Fellows, who has won six NASCAR races over 12 years, including the Montreal race in 2008, said “our chances for this race are good. We’re pretty confident we’ll be a threat.”
Cambridge, Ont., native J.R. Fitzpatrick recently won the Edmonton Indy.
The Montreal track is one of the 22-year-old’s favourites, he said.
“And the fans there are die-hard race fans. They’re great.”
