Elizabeth Olsen’s star is rising as rumors swirl that she will join the cast of “The Avengers” sequel, reports the Wall Street Journal. Samuel L. Jackson spilled the beans on the youngest Olsen sister’s role in “The Avengers: Age of Ultron.”
“I don’t think we begin shooting before March of next year. I know we’re shooting in London, that James Spader is Ultron and going to be the bad guy, and that we added Ms. [Elizabeth] Olsen, but I don’t know what she’s doing, if she’s on the inside or the outside. I haven’t seen a script,” Jackson told the Wall Street Journal.
Jackson, who plays Nick Fury, added that Olsen will be playing Scarlet Witch.
Avengers fans have long speculated on who would win the role of Scarlet Witch in director Joss Whedon’s upcoming film.
It seems like Olsen may even eclipse her older sisters, Mary-Kate and Ashley: She will also star in the hyped Godzilla remake next year. Olsen has been lauded for her performances in indie films like “Martha Marcy May Marlene,” and will co-star in this year’s remake of “Oldboy” with Josh Brolin.
