Elizabeth Warren ‘can’t imagine’ leaving Senate to work in a Clinton White House

Despite being floated as a possible vice presidential candidateearlier this year, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren said she “can’t imagine” taking a position in a potential Clinton Administration.

She made the remarks during an interview with WBZ’s Jon Keller.

“God, I can’t imagine it,” she said when asked about the possibility. “Come on, look at the job I’ve got right now… I get to reach across a whole lot of agencies to try help move them in the right direction to as well as being right there in Congress mixing it up on the statues that get passed or get blocked.”

Warren added that she wasn’t ready to announce a run for her second term yet — she’s up for re-election in 2018—but did say “I love this job, and I’m learning every day how to use it effectively.”

The news station also released a preview clip of the interview, with Warren responding to a question from Keller: What goes through the senator’s head when she hears Donald Trump call her “Pocohontas?”

“I want to say to him: do you really think this is gonna work?” she said. “I mean, let’s face it, Donald Trump is a thin-skinned, racist bully, and that’s what bullies do. He thinks somehow, if he calls me names, that I’m gonna shut up. And I think he’s got plenty of evidence now that that’s just not gonna happen because that’s the way you gotta deal with bullies, you just stand up and punch back.”

The WBZ interview, not yet aired, is scheduled for broadcast during “Keller @ Large” at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 14 on WBZ.
