Manchester United faces off against Arsenal today at 2:55 p.m. ET at Emirates Stadium in the fourth round of the English FA Cup. In their last five matchups, Manchester United leads the series by the record of 2-2-1.
Arsenal and Manchester United are tied for fifth in the English Premier League standings with a 13-5-5 record and 44 points. They are both still in contention for the Champions League since they trail Chelsea by just three points for the fourth and final spot.
Arsenal is coming off a 2-0 win over Chelsea on Saturday, Jan. 19. Alexandre Lacazette and Laurent Koscielny each scored for Arsenal meanwhile Chelsea was only able to get one shot on goal out of 13 total shots.
The last time Arsenal played a FA Cup match was back on Jan. 5 where Arsenal beat Blackpool by the final score of 3-0. Joseph Willock scored two goals in the first half and Alex Iwobi scored the third goal late in the second half.
Manchester United is coming off a 2-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion this past Saturday, Jan. 19. Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford were able to find the back of the net for Manchester.
Manchester United’s last FA Cup contest also came back on Jan. 5 against Reading. Manchester won the match by the final score of 2-0. Juan Manuel Mata and Romelu Lukaku helped put Reading away to advance to the fourth round.
