What to watch on TV tonight: ‘SNL,’ but also two hours of ‘The Bachelor’
NBC

Considering many of us are trapped inside the neverending blizzards of the ice planet Hoth, we’re guessing a lot of you are planning to veg out on your couches and watch some TV tonight. Luckily, there’s quite a bit to watch.

‘Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary Special’

There’s a neverending parade of celebrities booked to appear at the big event tonight, from Justin Timberlake to Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy and…Glenn Close? Sure, why not. We’re assuming most of those people are going to basically stand up and wave before sitting back down again, but the show is three and a half hours long, so presumably everybody gets their moment to shine.

8 p.m., NBC

‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’

Read our interview with Andy Samberg to see what else is coming up this season, but in the meantime, tonight his Jake Peralta will be teaming up with Captain Holt’s husband, Kevin, to figure out why Holt seems to be in a bad mood.

8:30 p.m., FOX

‘The Bachelor: Chris Tells All’

In case your weekly doses of Prince Farming weren’t quite enough, ABC, is devoting an hourlong interview to Chris Soules where he will, apparently, tell all. And then after that there’s a regular hour of “The Bachelor” where he’s hanging out with the six remaining ladies. It’s a realBach-stravaganza. Hmm, somehow we’re guessing that phrase won’t quite catch on.

‘Downton Abbey’

Looks like it’s more bad news for Lady Edith, but when isn’t it? Her secret will be revealed this week, and something sad happens to Lady Mary, too: She’ll lose a suitor. But probably get a new one, because everyone always likes her.
