Ex-politician’s sentencing delayed to March

SYDNEY, N.S. – The sentencing hearing for a former member of the Nova Scotia legislature who pleaded guilty to charges in the province’s spending scandal has been rescheduled to March 30.

Dave Wilson was scheduled to be sentenced on Wednesday in Sydney provincial court.

A news release from the Public Prosecution service says the new sentencing date gives the Crown a chance to evaluate evidence the defence wants to present in court.

Wilson once represented the rural riding of Glace Bay.

He pleaded guilty in September to uttering forged documents, fraud over $5,000 and breach of trust.
