Female ski jumpers get meeting with IOC

A representative from the International Olympic Committee has agreed to meet with two female ski jumpers who want their sport to be included in the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.

Canadian Katie Willis and American Lindsey Van went to Denver on Wednesday in a failed attempt to meet with IOC president Jacques Rogge.

They have since received an email from the IOC confirming that they will be heard. The email did not say who they’ll be meeting with.

The two women are part of a group of 15 female ski jumpers suing VANOC.

Ski jumping is currently the only Winter Olympic sport to not allow women to participate.
