Fest goes beyond the city

While most music festivals in Ottawa are held in the downtown area, Capital Hoedown is held at the Rideau Carleton Entertainment Centre.

“With a country festival, we prefer not to have it in an urban setting,” said festival co-chair Ed Lauzon. “Country music should take place in front of a country backdrop.

It’s not something you want to put in a concrete jungle. The site is spacious, well-known, and still close to town with a lot of parking and services on site.”
