Five charged after weeklong probe into drug operation

Five people have been charged after a weeklong investigation into a drug trafficking operation. One of the people charged is a known gang associate, according to Calgary police, who allegedly supplies mid-level dealers with drugs.

On March 5 around 4 p.m. officers conducted a traffic stop at Richmond Road and Signal Hill Centre SW and arrested two people. Nicholas Neumann, 24, and John Hawes, 25, face charges in that incident. Another man faces possession of cocaine charges in relation to a search of a car the same day.

On March 6 police searched a residence in the 660 block of Old Banff Coach Road SW and charged Ilia Kosmak, 21, of Calgary, and his girlfriend Billy Joan Reniva, 20, of Chestermere. They face charges after police found more than $125,000 worth of cocaine and other drugs and paraphernalia as well as almost $60,000 in cash.
