The list of Bay State politicians who have answered to criminal charges continued to grow yesterday.
Brian Wallace, 61, the former state representative from South Boston, and his former aid both pleaded not guilty to campaign finance violations during their arraignment in Suffolk Superior Court.
He and his campaign treasurer, Timothy Duross, 50, allegedly failed to report $6,345 worth of campaign contributions in 2008, according to Attorney General Martha Coakley’s office. They allegedly could not provide documentation or support of the contributions.
Wallace is the fifth local politician to be criminally charged since 2005. Others include former House speakers Thomas Finneran and Sal DiMasi, Boston City Councilor Chuck Turner and former state Sen. Dianne Wilkerson.
