Four charged, six sought after major undercover operation

Halifax Regional Police say they have charged four people under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and are looking for six more suspects after a major undercover operation in the Halifax Regional Municipality.

According to Staff Sgt. Richard Lane, the three-and-a-half month investigation involved an undercover officer from the Cape Breton Regional Police department, who participated in 36 drug transactions in Fairview, Clayton Park, Halifax and Dartmouth.

Lane explained an officer was called in from Cape Breton because he would not be easily recognizable in HRM.

“We had received some complaints from different citizens and businesses within the municipality,” Lane said. ”So we decided to address the issue.”

A search warrant was also executed at a home in Fairview, said Lane, and police seized an unspecified amount of drugs at that location.

“We expect to execute several other search warrants as we move through this,” he added.

As a result of the investigation, police have charged Shawn David, 43 (no fixed address), with three counts of trafficking in cocaine, Paul Glasgow, 25 (Dartmouth), with five counts of trafficking in cocaine, and an unidentified 17-year-old male (Halifax) with two counts of trafficking in cocaine. A 42-year-old man from Halifax is also facing several counts of trafficking in marijuana and ecstasy, but his name has not yet been released.

As of yesterday, the six remaining suspects were still at large.
