PARIS (Reuters) – France reported 10,489 new confirmed coronavirus cases on Tuesday, well below a daily high near 17,000 reported on Saturday but remaining above the 10,000 level first seen mid-September.
The cumulative number of confirmed cases rose to 634,763 and the seven-day moving average of new cases per day increased to just over 12,000, health ministry data showed. On Monday, when reporting typically dips following the weekend, 5,084 cases had been reported.
The number of people in hospital with coronavirus was up by 104 to 7,397, continuing an upward trend that started early September. The number of people in intensive care rose by 11 to 1,426.
