Macarons have taken the 2012 food scene by storm, with many discerning palates arguing that they are the “new cupcake.”
Whether you’ve yet to try one of these crispy delights, or you’re a regular macaron enthusiast, today is your day. Introducing the third annual Macaron Day NYC!
Started by François Payard, chef and owner of François Chocolate Bar and François Payard Bakery, Macaron Day is a time to raise public awareness about this bakery essential — and also a time to sample it.
Macaron meccas across the city are passing out free samples today — you just have to tell them that you’re there for Macaron Day.
And in case you need another reason to indulge, if you purchase macarons today, part of the proceeds from participating locations will go towards City Harvest, an organization that feeds needy families.
Here are few of the city spots where you can get free macarons today. Bon appetit!
