Giants, Jets scout Ole Miss prospects Stringfellow and Engram

Ole Miss tight end Evan Engram stiff arms a defender.

Wide receiver Damore’ea Stringfellow and tight end Evan Engram were among the players at Monday’s Ole Miss pro day that both the New York Giants and New York Jets saw in action.

A source tells Metro New York that the Giants sent scout Chris Watts to the SEC program for its pro day, the only major college to have an event on the day. The Jets had three people at the Ole Miss facility including college scout Dom Green and national scout Zach Truty.

Of note, the Jets also had tight end coach Jimmie Johnson in attendance, an interesting development as the aforementioned Engram is among the best tight ends in this draft class.

Also on Monday, Giants scout Ryan Jones was at the Test Football Academy pro day in central New Jersey where a dozen draft-eligible players and an equal number of free agents worked out. Metro New York reported yesterday that Kansas defensive back Tevin Shaw, who was at Test, will attend the local college days for the Giants and Jets. Those events are held later this week at the respective team’s facilities in North Jersey.

In addition, Colgate wide receiver John Maddaluna also has an invite to the Giants local day for college players this week. Maddaluna had a standout showing at the Test pro day.

Another name to pop up on the radar is Kevin Malloy, an offensive lineman from Albany. He will attend the local day for the Giants and the Jets.
