Green Rebel breaks the fast food mould

In a world of unhealthy fast food, it’s nice to find a place that wants to serve a quick healthy meal.

From a menu of salads and sandwiches, my friend and I both chose salads. And though salads are healthy, the vinaigrette dressings they offer at Green Rebel all contain sugar. However, they were nice enough to whisk up a fresh vinaigrette using red wine vinegar and olive oil. As for my feta chicken salad, the romaine was crisp, but the chicken was unseasoned. The dried cranberries and feta added a nice flavour, but the tomatoes were old and mushy. Overall, the salads we ordered were mediocre.

Green Rebel is committed to the environment and offer a handful of stainless steel forks to grab instead of the plastic ones. And their containers are biodegradable, but only if empty. I didn’t see a bin to dump my leftover salad for composting.

It’s not easy being a green rebel, but this restaurant is trying.
