A former Halifax man was charged yesterday with murder for a fatal shooting last month at a McDonald’s restaurant in Surrey.
Daon Gordon Glasgow, 26, was arrested Friday and was charged with one count of second-degree murder in the shooting death of Terry Blake Scott, 39, at the McDonald’s at the corner of 110th Avenue and Scott Road.
RCMP Cpl. Dale Carr, a spokesman for the province’s integrated homicide investigation team, said video surveillance from the McDonald’s played a significant role in the investigation.
According to a police statement, the shooting occurred around 6 p.m. on March 27 after an altercation broke out between two men at the rear of the restaurant, near the washrooms.
The shooter, a young man in his 20s with a scruffy beard, ran from the restaurant on foot, fleeing north. Police said the shooting was linked to the street-level drug trade.
