Harvard ready to dance in NCAA tourney for first time since 1946

Tommy Amaker is no stranger to NCAA tournament play.

His current school and its players most certainly. The Crimson learned their NCAA tournament fates Sunday as they will square off with No. 5-seeded Vanderbilt in the East Region.

While thoughts of playing a “home game” in the Sweet Sixteen at TD Garden next week are enticing, the Crimson can’t look past Vanderbilt, who were one of the surprise teams of the SEC this season.

Just three weeks ago, many tabbed Vanderbilt as a Final Four sleeper.

The winner of Harvard-Vanderbilt will face the winner of Wisconsin-Montana on Saturday.

The winner of the March 17 game will head to TD Garden the following week for the Sweet Sixteen.

Kentucky, Michigan State, Syracuse and UNC were the No. 1 seeds.
