Headless body found on LI beach

A headless body washed up on a Hamptons beach Sunday afternoon. It was found about 100 miles east of Gilgo Beach, where police are looking for multiple killers suspected of murdering as many as 10 people.

Someone walking found the body around noon Sunday on an Amagansett beach.

East Hampton police chief Ed Ecker told Metro the body was in fairly advanced stages of decomposition. He said the medical examiner will finish the autopsy today and, until they have those results, police will not begin investigating if foul play was involved.

Police would not release many details on the corpse, saying only it was badly decomposed and missing some body parts. Ecker also said they were working with the Suffolk police to search for people who had been reported missing.
