Drivers passing through the Manhattan-bound Henry Hudson Bridge can expect some traffic headaches as work begins to turn two toll lanes into one.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority announced on Tuesday that it would convert two 10-feet wide lanes into a single 11-foot, 6-inch lane.

Early estimates have the project taking three weeks, with work expected to begin March 24.

The length of the construction will vary according to weather, officials said, and work will likely affect not only commuters but also Bronx residents near the plaza.

“We are very aware of the close proximity of our neighbors in Riverdale and will make every effort to minimize work during overnight hours whenever possible,” project manager Joe Gugliero said.
