Here’s how to activate Facebook’s rainbow reaction flag for Pride Month

Pride Flag

You may have noticed people using a rainbow reaction lately on Facebook. If you feel left in the dark and don’t know how to use it, we’ve got you covered.

Facebook recently announced their support for all communities around the world, so they are celebrating love and diversity with a special rainbow flag reaction.

For the month of June, users will be able to react to any post with a rainbow flag. Since it has been introduced, people seem to be using it in ways one would expect. Users are reacting to posts to express happiness and also to troll pages, groups, organizations and individuals on Facebook who openly express anti-LGBTQ views.

Many people have already begun using the pride reaction on several pages that usually take anti-LGBTQ stances, such as the Democratic Unionist Party, which is particularly known for its opposition to LGBT rights.

The rainbow reaction is also being used to troll politicians who have expressed their anti-LGBTQ views, including Alabama’s former Supreme Court Judge Roy Moore. We anticipate many other pages being flooded with rainbows throughout the month of June.

The Facebook rainbow reaction doesn’t appear automatically. You need to go through a quick and easy series of steps to activate it.

How to activate Facebook’s rainbow reaction emoji

To activate Facebook’s new rainbow reaction emoji for Pride Month, just follow the steps below:

1. Log in to Facebook normally from your computer or mobile device.

2. Go to the LGBTQ@Facebook page and “like” it.

3. The reaction should become available to you in a few minutes. If it takes more than five minutes, log out and log back in to see if it becomes available.

That’s all there is to it. Now you will be fully equipped to express your LGBTQ pride and support on Facebook by reacting to posts with the pride flag.

Happy pride!
