Hub families, officials emotionally commemorate 9/11

The day of remembrance for the 9/11 attacks started this morning at the city’s memorial in the Public Garden.

Hundreds of people attended, including family members of local people who lost their lives 10 years ago.

Mayor Thomas Menino laid a wreath at the memorial before family members walked around it while hugging each other and placing flowers near the names of their loved ones.

“This day will always be on my mind and all of yours because our lives changed forever,” Menino said.
