Huskies looking to get back to .500 mark

The Saint Mary’s Huskies football team is looking to keep the good times rolling.

After coming out of the gates with three consecutive losses, Saint Mary’s is hosting the St. Francis Xavier X-Men Friday at Huskies Stadium, and with a win can even its record at 3-3.

Game time is 7 p.m.

“The biggest thing that has happened is sometimes you need a little adversity,” Huskies coach Steve Sumarah said of his club’s seeming turnaround. “I didn’t think we played with the same intensity that we’re playing with now.”

Saint Mary’s is facing an X-Men squad it blew away in Antigonish last weekend. The Huskies won 43-16, with quarterback Micah Brown throwing for 164 yards and running for 24.

“We have to win this game,” Sumarah said. “We need to get back to 3-3.”
