Ignatieff lends support to Nova Scotia Liberals ahead of provincial election

BEDFORD, N.S. – Michael Ignatieff is lending Nova Scotia’s Liberal election campaign some federal star power.

The federal Liberal leader is in the Halifax area Sunday, hitting the hustings alongside candidates ahead of the June 9th vote.

Earlier, Ignatieff and Liberal candidate Kelly Regan visited a mall in Bedford where they met with supporters and mingled with shoppers.

Ignatieff, an acclaimed author, autographed one of his books for one supporter, and posed for a number of pictures with children.

Norma Hustins, a member of Regan’s campaign team, says having Ignatieff visit the area “is awesome” for the provincial party.

Ignatieff – who spoke Saturday night in Gander, N.L., for the provincial party’s convention – will also attend a rally in Dartmouth, N.S., with Nova Scotia Liberal Leader Stephen McNeil Sunday.
