Young publishers will put their finest work on display at Calgary’s first Zine Fair on Saturday.
Zines are defined as self-published magazines or pamphlets made by individuals outside of mainstream media.
“You have total control over what you write … Zines are completely a labour of love,” said Samantha Trees, one of 10 writers taking part in the event.
The event will feature an open market to buy or trade zines, and runs from noon to 5 p.m. at the Old Y Centre at 223-12th Ave. SW.
