Italian paramedic accused of stealing James Gandolfini’s Rolex

A paramedic who attended to the dying James Gandolfini in June 2013 now faces charges that he took the actor’s Rolex in his last moments.

On Monday, an Italian judge postponed the start of the trial for Claudio Bevilacqua, 43, until November. Bevilacqua, who was not in court, faces charges in connection to the disappearance of a $3,000 watch that went missing from Gandolfini around the time of his death, NBC News reported.

It remained unclear whether the “The Sopranos” actor’s Rolex Submariner vanished from his hotel room or if he was wearing it when he collapsed, NBC News added. The actor had been staying at the Boscolo Exedra Hotel in Rome when he died.

A native of New Jersey, Gandolfini died on June 19 while on vacation in Italy with his family, the New York Daily News reported. He was pronounced dead at a hospital 20 minutes after being found unconscious on the floor of his hotel bathroom.
