Red Sox pitching coach John Farrell will be named the next manager of the Toronto Blue Jays, according to online reports Thursday.
Peter Gammons first reported the news, citing three major league general managers.
Farrell was the Cleveland Indians’ director of player development from 2001 until ’06, and started his three-year run as Red Sox pitching coach in ’07.
