Joran van der Sloot appears to confess to Holloway murder in secret video

Joran van der Sloot, long suspected of involvement in the disappearance of American Natalee Holloway in Aruba in 2005, seemingly confesses to her murder in a newly released undercover video.

The video, captured during a conversation with van der Sloot at the Challapalca Prison in Peru where he is serving a sentence for another murder, features van der Sloot candidly talking about Holloway’s disappearance, RadarOnline has reported.

“I always lied to the police,” van der Sloot, talking about Holloway’s disappearance, was quoted by RadarOnline. “This is also where I am guilty, and I accept everything that I have done.”

Van der Sloot, 28, was arrested on suspected involvement in Holloway’s disappearance, but he was never charged, theDaily Mailreported in a related article. He is now serving a 28-year sentence in Peru for killing Stephany Flores, a business student, in 2010.

“He could sit down there and rot in the prison system he’s in now,” Natalee Holloway’s father was quoted by the Daily Mail. “I do know the Peruvian prison system he’s in now is pretty harsh, and obviously he’s trying to get to Aruba or somewhere else, and I don’t think that’s is going to happen.”

Holloway was 18 when she disappeared in Aruba after being at a nightclub with van der Sloot and two others, according to RadarOnline. The trio, including van der Sloot, was arrested but released due to lack of evidence in the case.
